TECHNICAL JAPANESE TRANSLATION
An archive of the Technical Japanese Translation newsletter published by Donald L. Philippi from May 1983 to November 1984.
Copies of the newsletter were received directly from Donald L. Philippi or through John David Lamb, his Japanese distributor.
The newsletter includes second-generation photocopies of newspaper clippings and other materials. These vary in size and quality and have been appended as separate image files.
The English text has lent itself well to optical character recognition, with the exception of macrons. These make their debut in Issue No. 3 and were generated by over-typing. Macrons have been reproduced where identifiable. It should be noted, however, that use of macrons is not consistent throughout the newsletter.
OCR accuracy for Japanese text was less than 50% and most had to be retyped.
Underlined words and phrases have been rendered as italics. Otherwise, with a few exceptions, no attempt has been made to edit the original text. The exceptions include typographical errors and phonetic renditions of names.
